Ihya' Ramadhan 1429H
|
|
Salam 'alaik~
Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w.:
"Sesiapa yang bergembira dengan kedatangan Ramadhan maka Allah mengharamkan ke atas jasadnya api neraka."
Bulan Ramadhan merupakan bulan di mana syaitan dan iblis di belenggu dan di tutup semua pintu neraka. Maka terbentang luas pintu-pintu syurga..This shows how merciful Allah is towards His servant who is loyal in performing ibadah and does righteous..
| Quote: | | "Abu Hurairah menyatakan : Telah bersabda Rasulullah S.A.W yang bermaksud : Apabila telah tibanya Ramadhan, dibuka pintu-pintu syurga dan ditutup segala pintu neraka dan diikat segala syaitan." -riwayat imam Bukhari, Muslim, Nasai'e, Ahmad dan Baihaqi |
Subhanallah.
Ramadhan is surely a gift from Allah to humankind..a chance to repent and gain multiplied merit for every good deed that is done.
| Quote: | "The month of Ramadan has arrived again, the month of fasting and prayer. It is the month that provides an opportunity for forgiveness from Allah and emancipation from our sins. It is the month for performing good deeds and giving in charity. It is the month when the gates of the heavens are opened and the rewards for our deeds are magnified many times over. It is the month wherein prayers are answered and the status of the worshipper is elevated. It is the month wherein sins are forgiven." - Sheikh `Abd al-`Azîz b. Bâz
|
Ramadhan juga digelar sebagai syahru al-Quran. Bulan di mana Quran dibaca paling byk berbanding bulan-bulan lain. It is the host month for the inauguration of the final revelation, Al-Qur`an Al-`Azeem.
| Quote: | | "Ramadan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong)." (Al Baqarah:185). |
Till then..
Salam Ramadhan..selamat beribadah!

feeling down..harini sy realised sy serba kekurangan. lemah..lemah sgt..
currently listening to:
mestica - layar keinsafan
Sepi benar senja ini
Bayunya semilir, menganak ombak kecil
Jalur ufuk pula mengemas terang
Kapal dan layar terkapar
Mengapa nantikan senja
Barukan terdetik, pulang ke pengkalan
Gusar malam menghampiri
Ku tewas di lautan
Tuhan layarkanku ke arah cintaMu
Tuntuniku menggapai redhaMu
Rimbunan kasihMu ku berteduh
KepadaMu ya Tuhan
Berikan secebis keinsafan
Bekalan sepanjang perjalanan
Mencari ketenangan
c/o
Biar Kau menjadi saksi
Tulus tangisku kala dini hari
Kesempatan yang hanya sebentar
Moga keikhlasanku terlakar
Berikanlah ku hidayah
Agar dikuatkan iman yang lemah
Moga diberkati hidup ini
Menuju bahagia yang kekal abadi
PadaMu Tuhan
Kan kuserahkan cinta kepadaMu
Tuhan layarkanku ke arah cintaMu
Tuntuniku menggapai redhaMu
Rimbunan kasihMu ku berteduh
KepadaMu ya Tuhan
Berikan secebis keinsafan
Bekalan sepanjang perjalanan
Mencari ketenangan
c/o
Biar Kau menjadi saksi
Tulus tangisku kala dini hari
Kesempatan yang hanya sebentar
Moga keikhlasanku terlakar
Berikanlah ku hidayah
Agar dikuatkan iman yang lemah
Moga diberkati hidup ini
Menuju bahagia yang kekal abadi
Harapanku moga dikurniakan
Manisnya iman berpanjangan
Moga lautan hilang gelora

Microbes: How clean is your environment??
|
|
Assalamualaikum w.b.t..
Praise to Allah almighty, The Beneficent, the Merciful, for giving me the chance to breathe right now..
I'm totally concious about the cleanliness of my surroundings nowadays. all these because we have to learn microbiology this semester. Seriously, i feel like sterilizing everything i own before i use them!
As a prove to why i am sooo concious, here's the result of last week's practical microbiology..we had to test bacteria growth on agar plate.
*and btw, apology in advance for the poor quality photos. i did not bring along my dslr to Johor..
1. Soil sprinkled on agar plate:
the transparent medium is the agar, while the opaque and whitish medium are the bacterias. now think twice before going outside without your shoes on!
2. Agar plate exposed to the air by removing the cover for 30 minutes:
this is the air we breath..God..look at all the microbes..
3. A strand of hair placed on the agar plate:
first of all, this is NOT my hair! conclusion: wash your hair people!
4. Agar plate touched by hand:
and again..it wasn't my hand which touched the agar..however, after seeing this, i never fail to wash my hands (with soap!) before i eat..
5. A drop a pipe water added to the agar plate:
okay..here's the deal. NEVER drink pipe water..kalau cuci pinggan, cawan, or any kitchen utensils, make sure you rinse them with hot-boiling water before you use them.
the conclusion for this entry is: jaga kebersihan, jaga iman, jaga amal and yg paling penting jaga Islam!
Wassalam~

Bangkok: Episode 2
|
|
Assalamualaikum w.b.t..firstly sy nak mintak maaf sgt2 because of the late update. i've just 'moved' to Johor, so i had a lot of 'adapting' to do. i couldn't manage to surf the net for the past month since i couldn't get a wireless connection in my room (i won't even consider going to the cyber cafe..bazir duet). i finally got a broadband so now i'm all surfed up! i got a lot of catching up to do since so many things had happened last month..anyway, here are the rest of Bangkok's photo. Enjoy!
the person who built the statue of King Rama the V - if im not mistakken
well..im pretty sure this is the statue of King Rama the V.
ape name king tu tak penting..the important thing is that the Thai's believe that their King is their God so they worship them. it's kind of weird seeing the King's and his family's photos on most billboards. there are also statues of the past kings and the present king.
in front of the palace..
marching band..
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, The Beneficent, the Merciful. Owner of the Day of Judgment, Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. Show us the straight path, The path of those whom Thou hast favoured. Not (the path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. (1:1-7)

Bangkok: Episode 1
|
|
1. Prayer room at the airport
a signboard showing directions to the prayer room.
2. Chatuchak weekend market
Chatuchak weekend market in Bangkok is the largest market in Thailand, and largest of the world. it covers over 35 acres and contains upwards of 15,000 stalls. It is estimated that the market receives between 200,000 and 300,000 visitors each day. Most stalls only open on Saturdays and Sundays. The market offers a wide variety of products including household items, clothing, Thai handicrafts, religious artifacts, collectibles, foods, and live animals.
a sign posted on a glass window in front of a shop.
a stall selling varieties of socks for ladies, men and children.
a foreigner buying mini doughnuts. look closely and you'll see the sign "can should your favourites" instead of "can choose your favourite"
the only halal food in chatuchak is Saman Islam's food stall located at section 16, stall 7. frankly, it is one of the best ever beriyani! it's not served with kurma or dahl, but it's served with thai's traditional sambal. other than beriyani, they also have nasi campur with petai, nasi ayam and sate. i would recommend one to try the nasi beriyani ayam and ice tea..marvelous!
also sold at the chatuchak market are candle lights, lamp, lanterns and other household accesories..
believe it or not, chatuchak market also sells live animals such as parrots, birds, fishes, dogs, cats, hamsters and many other pets.
3. the people of bangkok
a streethawker on the phone.
a couple of hawker at the chatuchak market.
4. the tuk tuk
The tuk-tuk is the Southeast Asian version of a vehicle known elsewhere as an auto rickshaw or cabin cycle. It is a widely used form of urban transport in Bangkok and other Thai cities, as well as other major Southeast Asian and South Asian cities. It is particularly popular where traffic congestion is a major problem, such as in Bangkok.
that's it for now!
stay tune for the next entry for episode 2!

Mice Dissection
|
|
Assalamualaikum wbt.
I don't really know how to start off, but anyway, this entry is about my Biology lab experiment - mice dissection. We had to do a research on mammals' digestive system, reproductive sytem and transport system. 2 'surgeons' were assigned to operate on each 'patient'. At first i was sooo excited. But when it came to pinning its palm, i looked away while doing it. Kesian tikus tu..dah la comel je.hahah! In the end, it wasn't so bad after all. We had fun. Don't get me wrong yeah! I didn't mean to kill or torture the mice..it had to be done for the research.
First, the mices were put into a container which contains chlorofom. Once the mices passed out, the 'surgeons' choose the 'patients' by considering the size and gender of the mice. I was partnered up with Una. Our 'patient' was a tiny sized, female.
And so the surgery begins.
1. Place the mice onto the operating theater. Stretch its arms and legs and carefully pin its palm and feet.
2. Lift a thin portion of its skin at the lower abdomen. Cut it off by using a sharp scissors (dissecting kit). Use the blunt-end scissors to cut off the skin from its trachea to its lower abdomen. Using hands, pull off the skin to expose its inner body. The skin is stretched out and pinned onto the operating theater. Cut off the thin membrane protecting its organs by using the blunt-end knife. Make sure that the internal organs are not harmed when cuting its membrane.
3. Observe and identify its organs and location.
4. Cut open its ribs by cutting through its sternum until its trachea to expose its heart, lungs and spleen. Observe and identify its organ and location. The digestive tract - stomach, ileum (small intestine), and duodenum (large intestine) - are moved aside to observe its reproductive system. The ovary is located below its kidney.
Selamat mencuba! hahaha.

An obligation
|
|
It was Friday and my roomates and i went for an outing to pekan pilah. We decided to go to Upwell because they have a pasar malam on Fridays near Upwell (kalau kat sini, Upwell tu mcm Sogo, Giant..the only thing is people go there just because they have nowhere else to go.hahah!). Anyway, we asked a sales assistant at Upwell where was the surau. She said that the only surau available were across the street, near a residential area. We walked out of Upwell, crossed the street, passed some bushes and came across a small house-like surau. We weren't sure at first whether it was a surau or not. Alas, we decided to redah je lah. We came through the side door, and found an old lady in her mid 50s, praying. I put down my bag and waited for my roomates to perform their ablution (wuduk). While waiting, the old lady asked me where i came from. I later found out that she was a hawker at the night market, and has three children. She told me that her first child is studying forestry in UPM and used to study in KMNS too. I was surprised by how open she was to tell me about her personal life. After a while, her old skinny hands folded the telekung and kept them in a worn out bag. She said her salam, and stood up to leave. Somehow, the short acquaintance had an impact on me. I don't really know why..
